Do you have a website or are you thinking about having one? Google is your super ally to help you give it more visibility!
Google has several very powerful and totally free tools that will help you to give more visibility to your website, analyze the visits it receives and optimize it to get better results… and therefore more sales! and therefore more sales! In today’s post we will talk about 4 of them.
1. Google Business
It allows you to:
- appear on Google Maps (very important if you have a physical store where you want your customers to go)
- get customer reviews: also very useful. One of the first criteria for consumers when choosing a brand are the opinions that this brand has. Are your customers satisfied with your products or services? Ask them for a review!
- indicate your website, opening hours and address: very useful to direct your potential customers where you want them to go.
- receive private messages with queries: just like on Facebook or Instagram, you can also receive private messages on Google Business.
- upload photos of your business and your team: a way to humanize your brand and showcase the products and services you offer.
- By going through the process of registering your business on Google Business, you show Google that your business is real… which also helps to rank your website ahead of your competitors who don’t have a Google Business listing!
How does it work?
- To register, visit the link https://business.google.com/
- Enter your business category, information and indicate if you have a physical address. If you don’t, Google will ask you for the service area you have. To confirm your location (that is, that you are where you say you are) Google will send you: a letter! Yes, you will receive mail from Google, what do you think? Inside this letter will be a verification code. Enter this code in your profile and that’s it, your profile is active, you can receive reviews and your visitors can see your profile! This letter takes in theory about two weeks to arrive, although it may take up to a month if, like us, you are in the Canary Islands. Patience, it will come eventually!
Google Analytics
It allows you to:
- Analyze how many visitors your website receives
- Which pages of your website are the most viewed
- Get demographic data about your visitors.
- To be able to analyze the results of visits in specific campaigns that are redirected to the web.
- Analyze the behavior of your visitors on your website: what page they enter, where they click, etc.
Analytics is a GREAT tool to optimize your website.
How does it work?
- Enter https://analytics.google.com and create a new Property. Enter the link to your website, sector of activity and your objectives.
- Connect your Analytics account to your website. You have different ways to do it: either by inserting a Google tag in the code of your website, or, if your website is made with WordPress, using a plugin.
- After 24 hours you will start receiving traffic in your Analytics account and that’s it!
3. Google Ads
It allows you to:
- Advertising your business in Google search results
- Create banners that appear on the sides of the pages visited by your potential customers (remember that book you saw on Amazon that chased you to the end of the world? Well, that 😉 )
- Create YouTube ads
Creating a Google Ads account is free but the ads are paid, of course. You will have to define a daily budget for each type of campaign you run and set up your ads. Google Ads are a VERY powerful way to drive traffic to your website, and with a well optimized investment they can be very profitable! If this is already a world away from you, remember that we can help you create and optimize your campaigns, contact us!
How does it work?
- Go to https://ads.google.com and set up your account (payment method, billing information).
- From this same platform you will be able to manage all your campaigns: search network campaigns, display campaigns, campaigns to attract visitors to your local business and YouTube campaigns.
Google Ads also exists in App format, very useful to be able to follow the performance of your campaigns from your cell phone.
4. Google Search Console
Another of the tools that can not miss in web analyst kit. Google Search Console allows you to:
- Analyze the performance of your website and how to optimize it.
- Identify with which keywords your visitors find your website.
- Identify which pages are the most visited and with which words they were found.
In short, what you have and what you need to do to improve your website, nothing less.
How does it work?
- Go to https://search.google.com/search-console and create your account.
- Connect your website to Search Console using a Google tag.
- Every month you will receive a report with the performance of your website. Done!
